Nobel Laureate Mundell Met with GASME Delegation from China
On Oct 23, 2011, Dr. Robert Mundell, Nobel Prize winner in Economics, Father of the Euro, renowned professor at Columbia University, met with the Chinese delegation of entrepreneurs, led by Mr. Frank Cao, China Secretary-General of GASME at Columbia University before the opening ceremony of ‘Sino-US Investment and Financing Forum (New York)’.
Prof. Mundell was invited to attend the Forum by the Columbia Chinese Law and Business Association, US-China Exchange Association and GASME.
Prof. Mundell said in his speech that China should share the global rights with America and Europe. RMB should become a sovereign currency as well as the US dollar and the Euro, and the three should be the cornerstones for international currencies and a new international currency system. Prof. Mundell also proposed that a DOLLEURO system should be established and RMB be a member of it.
