Mr. Lv Zushan Meets Magariños, Chairman of GASME

On Nov. 7, 2011, Mr. Lv Zushan, Vice Chairman of the NPC Financial and Economic Committee and Former Governor of Zhejiang Province, met with the delegation led by Mr. Carlos Magariños, Chairman of GASME in Zhejiang Xizi Hotel, in the city of Hangzhou, China.

Mr. Lv expressed his warm welcome to Mr. Magariños for his second visit to Zhejiang. “The SME Global EZPath Program was very popular with enterprises in Zhejiang,” said Mr. Lv, “I hope our cooperation with GASME will be further strengthened in areas of overseas financing, stock exchange listing, marketing of Zhejiang brands, and talent and management training for SMEs.”

Mr. Magariños expressed his congratulations to Mr. Lv on his new position as Vice Chairman of the NPC Financial and Economic Committee. Mr. Magariños then spoke about his cooperation with enterprises in Zhejiang regarding their overseas development since the implementation of the SME Global EZPath Program, a joint effort by the SME Union and Zhejiang provincial government.

Through the SME Global EZPath Program, GASME has helped Zhejiang enterprises become listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. In 2011, the GASME invited NASDAQ experts to Hangzhou on multiple occasions to have face-to-face talks with senior management from Zhejiang enterprises regarding listing on the NASDAQ. Currently, there are over ten enterprises in the SME Global EZPath Program, 2 of which have been listed successfully on the NASDAQ.

GASME has helped Zhejiang enterprises launch the Zhejiang Brands Promotion Base in the U.S. With joint efforts by F&T Group and GASME, the brand base was established in the center of Manhattan, New York. A group of world-class consulting organizations have also set up at the base to help with sales promotion. In September, 2011, a promotional event for the base was held in Hangzhou, China. Currently, four Zhejiang enterprises have successfully located into the base and over 50 enterprises have expressed interest and are negotiating about locating in the base.

One of the objectives of SME Global EZPath Program is to provide leadership training to executives and management of SMEs. Zhejiang enterprises have received professional training by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and by the Wharton Business School. In July 2011, a training program on Creative Economy and Intellectual Property Management was held in Hangzhou, China. Five world-class experts were invited by WIPO to Hangzhou to deliver lectures to over 100 entrepreneurs and officials of the Zhejiang provincial government. The International CEO Class for Company’s Global Development from Wharton Business School is oriented toward key enterprises in Zhejiang as an executive leadership program. The first training session will start in 2012. There are currently over 20 business leaders registered for the leadership program.

GASME has also helped Zhejiang enterprises import advanced technologies from the U.S. From May to September, 2011, GASME picked 100 advanced technology projects in the U.S. in the fields of information technology, biotechnology, sustainable energy, green energy, environmental protection, and new material technology, and arranged for Zhejiang enterprises to meet with project leaders in San Francisco to discuss potential cooperation agreements.

In the near future, GASME plans to launch an executive training base in Lishui, Zhejiang. The base will be responsible for attracting programs that can provide world-class executive leadership training to SME executives, such as SME training programs by various U.N. agencies, leadership training programs from West Point, and senior management training programs from prestigious American universities.

Mr. Lv spoke very highly of the practical and constructive work done by GASME, and is very pleased by achievements made through cooperation between Zhejiang Province and GASME.

Mr. Lv’s delegation included Zhang Hongming, Secretary General of Zhejiang Provincial Government, and officials from the Foreign Affairs Office, the Bureau of SMEs, the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, and the Department of Science & Technology of Zhejiang Province.

Bew, Former SBA Deputy Director, Mr. Shawn He, Chairman of MeetChinaBiz and Senior Consultant at US-China Exchange Association, and Mr. Cao Fang, Secretary General of GASME China, China Chief Representative of US-China Exchange Association.
