The Global Alliance of SMEs (GASME) has recently established three Global Industry Cluster Centers: the “Global Liquor Industry Co-op Center” with the Yibin Municipal Government (Sichuan), the “Global Industry Cluster Cooperation Center for Fine Chemicals” with the Taixing Municipal Government (Jiangsu), and “Global Textile Trade Center” with Zhejiang China Textile City.

The signing ceremony was held during the Global SME Expo 2010 in Shanghai on June 22, with Mr. Carlos Magarinos, the Honorary Global Chairman of GASME, Wu Guanglei, Mayor of Yibin, Gao Yazi, Mayor of Taixing and Zhou Rusheng, Director of the Management Committee of Zhejiang China Textile City in attendance.

In today's global economy, industrial clusters characterized by the gathering of SMEs have become growth powerhouses in the economies of their respective countries or regions. Based on the principles of the Shanghai Manifesto on Global SME Cooperation, GASME is successively setting up a number of “Global Industry Cluster Cooperation Bases” in emerging economies worldwide, with the aim of assisting the SMEs in those regions to implement global strategies and to achieve sustainable development.

Before the signing ceremony, Chairman Carlos Magarinos communicated one-to-one with Mayor Wu Guanglei, Mayor Gao Yazi and Director Zhou Rusheng on the major issues involved.

Following the signing, Mr. Wu, Mr. Gao and Mr. Zhou presented further recommendations regarding the investment environment and project proposals.
