Zhejiang Province Governor Meets GASME Chairman

On June 23, 2010, Governor of Zhejiang Province, Mr. Lv Zushan, met with Mr. Carlos Magarinos, the Honorary Global Chairman of Global Alliance of SMEs (GASME) and his delegation at the Zhejiang Provincial Great Hall of People.

Mr. Lv indicated to Mr. Magarinos that he was anticipating further assistance and collaboration with GASME regarding talent training, financial and technological support, and marketing and sales networks for SMEs to play a major role in the province’s economy. Mr. Lv said that the 2.6 million SMEs throughout Zhejiang had outclassed those in the rest of China in both internal competitiveness and their potentials. However, it had become a top priority for the provincial government or SMEs to find ways of transforming old industrial structures, while at the same time sustaining steady development in the face of global economic conditions.


Mr. Lv also expressed his support for the “SME Global EZPath Program”, acclaiming it as a perfect partner to Zhejiang’s SMEs. He also offered advice on the promotion of the program, and suggested that the 200 leading enterprises in the province participate in the program and explore new ways for growth.

Chairman Magarinos expressed his admiration of Zhejiang’s rapid development, especially on the part of SMEs. He also expressed his expectation that Zhejiang would comprehensively partner with GASME and his association to offer better services to the province in the areas of international financing, talent development and training, brand promotion, market exploration, and technology promotion, via the implementation of the “SME Global EZPath Program”.

Mr. Magarinos then extended an invitation to Mr. Lv and a delegation of SMEs from Zhejiang to visit the USA in the second half of the year, an invitation which was immediately accepted by Governor with pleasure.

Witnessed by the governor and the chairman, a strategic memorandum of understanding was signed between Zhejiang and GASME after the meeting.
